Great article! For people like #2 and #4: even if they agree to leave their pets with you (in which I highly doubt), you come up with something like “are your pets spayed/neutered? if not i’ll have to do it first because it’s a law here. But don’t worry they’re gonna be all right. Go and have your pleasant vacation.”

Sorry Tom Anderson but Melissa is right-it’s not funny to recommend someone offer to take care of pets and then not show up. It’s not a particularly funny article either- it’s kind of obvious silly, grade-school humor.Not really clever and in rather poor taste. I have a suggestion, how about growing a set and going over and confronting them.

You might be a “well-educated Seattleite”, but you are a major jerk to reccommend for people to do all the complete opposites of what they should!!!
“offering to check their mail and watch their cats when they go on vacation, then never setting foot on their property while they’re gone.”
SO THAT THEIR PETS CAN DIE?????
You’re teaching people how to be cruel to one another, and don’t think you won’t get your natural reward for that!

I wish I’d read this article before I built the 10 foot concrete barrier between my yard and my neighbor’s. Sometimes the barking of the dobermans who live on top of it keeps me awake.
