South Koreans were rioting this week complaining about US Beef imports claiming that the beef tasted so much better than S. Korean beef, that students were getting 'hooked' on Big Mac's and Burger Kings which was having a deleterious effect on Korean national pride. Some suggested that the CIA was putting the beef on Korean Streets as part of a vast US conspiracy! Students threw smoke bombs and yelled at police waving signs also complaining about the low cost of US beef, because of the value of the dollar being low. "Tastes better, cost less" may sound good to some of the people, but Koreans want more in our lives than just slogans" yelled out a South Korean college professor wearing a 'Seattle Sister City" tee shirt and carrying a ‘Jack in the Box’ hamburger sack in one hand and a ‘global warming Al Gore DVD’ in the other.
Oh well, I guess it is to be expected in our 21st Century Global Economy.
