Is this satire or straight reporting? It’s hard to tell. I recall a recent case where an elected official wanted the city to buy a wardrobe appropriate for a trip to Australia on a “buy Washington” junket.

Which is why we keep reelecting these people to the city council. Seattle just wants to fit in and be one of the gang! Why does Chicago get to have all the fun?

While the story may be fictional satire, the attitudes of most politicians are accurately portrayed. That’s the sad part.
